Silver Thread : Episode I

great game! just played the remake and i do see the improvement! just to add on, the kitchen is really laggy, not sure why 

overall fun game 

I gotta say, this game is actually really good. The jokes land, the writing is really interesting, and the characters are also really well written.  Though I never played the original, this very version got me really interested~
Amazing done, cant wait for more

Well, I finally played the remake, and overall, like everyone else said, is a massive improvement over the original/jam version. I love the new portraits, the short intro, style matches, and the rewriting of the story. The newly added deduction minigame, reminiscing of AA a bit, is also really cool. Overall, verily well done remake. I guess one thing I will agree on some comments, is basically the kitchen area lags. Might possibly depends on hardware again on this one, or might need to optimize further on this one.

  Alright i played the remake the day it released but had to take my time to think, HERE IS MY REVIEW!!! (spoilers of course)↓↓↓

  IT IS SO GOOD, the first thing i noticed was the new effect on the menu, so cool

  The game already opened with an amazing the elevator cutscene, Alicia looks so gorgeous!(oh god she is so hot!)

  the new details like the menus, the transition effect, the sounds, the new osts, such an upgrade, they are great touchs that make the atmosphere and experience much better~

  i loved the new sprites~ since two people already mentioned how Beaford looks more pathetic now lol 

  i want to mention that i really liked how sarcastic and sassy he looks now, loved his smirks and raised eyebrow, his posture seens ironically more confident now? such a nice contrast to when he acts pathetic

  and Alicia new sprites are so beautifull, something i found cool is that you can basically basically feel the sadness and depression emanating from her now, might be me but in almost all of the sprites her eyes always look a little sad, her smile was adorable by the way 

(for some reason her sprites give me Eva Tsunaka vibes too, i imagined Alicia saying "bueh" i laughed to myself lol)

  i missed seeing Alicia and Beaford together... i missed them so much, their interactions are aways so funny, they really vibe well with eachother

  the new dialogs is so good too, i had so much fun checking everything that had changed, also Beaford is a cat person?!?!

  Also Alicia please don't encourage Beaford to smoke LOL, it almost seemed like she was already thinking of keeping him around "the smoke smeels nice once you get used to it"

  tho i admit i'll miss some of the old dialog, like that one of some priests getting mad at Alicia for hoarding their holy water XD ,or that one of her telling Beaford about ectoplasm being faked with toilet paper

  i'll also miss the third ending where Beaford end up Killing Alicia (and the lilicia dialog)

  Itou looks so pretty on the PC wallpaper, the PC was a really nice adition, pretty sad too, poor Beaford i felt so bad for him

   i loved loved LOVED the deduction sequence!!! the scene? Alicia's sprite? the colors? the sound effects? CANON ALICIA'S VOICE?!? peak, ABSOLUTE PEAK!!!

  i Wonder if Beaford (and later Itou) will join the deduction sequences in the next episodes

   the change in the possession was a huge surprise, but i really liked, indeed if Alicia is suposed to keep doubting if the supernatural exists is really better to keep it ambiguous

   and the new fight is so cool, i love how Beaford looks so scared while holding the knife, like he thinks he is in danger and is the one that is defending himself, suits how he sounded almost delirious there

  also the implications?!? he literally snaped because he was so scared of his dad blaming him "you don't know the things he will say if he blames this on me"

  even if it was partially the ghost

  and the half empty room too?!? one of his parents abandoned them?!? or died?!? now i'm really worried about what his family is like, it doesn't seem good, poor boy, i have so many theories

   and the impact this will have on Alicia's relationship with Beaford, because to her there's a huge possibility it wasn't possession and he had a meltdown from pure stress and then tried to kill her

  i'm excited to see if it will be explored, Alicia didn't seem to take that to seriously but it was still pretty worrying, and yet she hired him anyway, Alicia cares a lot, even if she doesn't show (or maybe even in denial about it, she doesn't see herself as a good person after all)

  Overall, it was totally worth the wait, beauté!! 100 points!!! i can't wait to see what will happen next, and i will surelly contribute to the kickstarter!!!

  the only complain i would have is that some sprites are inconsistent with the artstyle, like the final ones for Beaford (the ones where he is with both hands on his waist), the colors and lineart don't match the one used for his other sprites

  don't know if it's a bug but the kitchen lags a lot to me, like, a lot

i dont have any dang money but i love all games made by spica omgggggggggg when i get rich one day im giving every indie itch.io creator ive been following a million billion dollars

yoooo the ace attorney part was so sick and funn 

to be honest i didn't need to reference the evidence at all since the dots are sort of easily connected- for me anyways (alicia's dialouge/instructions were really clear-cut so that's super awesome :D)

i still enjoyed the mechanic a lot tho! maybe future remakes will have more evidence and more complicated plot twists?? in any case, i throughly enjoyed the remake loads, and yes like Mary said in a comment below Beaford is like a bajillion times more a wimp now (mostly communicated this thru the new sprites lol)

It was fun replaying this game again. I really enjoy playing the remake and thought some of the new changes such as new songs, and the layout of the apartment was a nice touch. Thank you for creating this gem! 

AAAH FINALLY GOT TO PLAY THE REMAKE AND I LOVE IT SM omg the nostalgia i felt seeing beafords 5 pixel tall ass greeting alicia by the door... ur games have always been such a comfort for me and getting to play this again now, improved and in ur current style, really threw me back to when i first saw the beautiful cover art scrolling through itch.io on a random school day, and ive been in love with all ur creations ever since :") please keep making games forever!!!

p.s. beaford is 100x more pathetic now 😭😭 his wallpaper ogmhyogdooddhdsnd HAHSDHASA alicia is also always and forever has been so funny u did so good on her dialogu

I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE Love Silver Thread

Incredible improvement from the original games and from your other games, which says a lot when they were already amazing! I was seriously floored by all of the little touches and quality of life changes in this remake, the animated cutscene at the start made me gasp... What I would do for a Silver Thread animated... The improvement in your art since the original game is stunning as well; the differences in the sprites (both character and environment) are beautiful. The game being in full colour instead of the limited color palette does a lot to add some atmosphere and proper imagery, especially making the apartment look a lot more lived in by a richer family. Comparing the original writing to the writing in this game is crazy as well; the updates you made to keep the writing consistent were very pleasant. Amazing job once more, I hope you feel fulfilled, because it was such a treat to play the game. It was very smooth to play, and the changes in things such as FX or music were super fun as well. 

(Oh, and just so you know, there's a dead pixel in the room with the broom up in the righthand corner)

hihi!!! omg that was a wonderful story and so so silly cute!!! bea is just so adorable and i love how comfortable they get with each other.  weirdly enough this game is really comforting, and just so lovley. thank you for making this!!! it was a joy running around and reading their interactions with things,their drynamic is so nice!! i like how ambigous their relationship is!!!
looks like our dear alicia had an unrequited love? how exciting!! i dont mind how things end up turning out, but i love what good friends they are, and i look forward to more content!! thank you for making this game!!!
