Patch + Browser Version + Devlog
The browser version is up now! I also patched up some things for both versions, such as:
- More environmental interactions.
- Picklocks are also easier to find now.
- Tidied up some of the art
- Fixed a lot of the bugs. My bad, thank you to everyone that caught them for me!
Sorry for the rough state it is on release! As I mentioned in the comments, I posted it at 6am then passed out so I didn’t get to playtest it much… A lot of things came up for me this month so I didn’t have as much time to work on it as I wanted…I also think I over scoped for a one month game jam. Oops. Most of these characters are also new so getting their voices down took a while. I had to cut a a lot of things to make a deadline, such as:
- An entire character (the doctor) got cut
- More locations
- There was supposed to be a time/date system
- There’s also supposed to be more routes (Michel’s and Monday’s) but since Cain’s the most important one plot-wise, I focused solely on his. Currently, only your relationship with him really matters for the ending
- There was 2 extra filler days to further familiarize you with the characters
- There was more CGS too especially in the ending sequence
Which might be a patch in the future depending on how much people want them (?) For now, I will rest…
The good things: I’m actually really satisfied with how the sprites look, I think I captured the character really well…I realized I actually like the sprites being up and center a lot more too so I’ll probably start going with this format for the future.
I was also under the impression RPGMAKER MV and MZ is pretty much the same but MZ actually has a lot more plugin support which I really enjoyed!
The dice system is also fun for flavor reasons to me…although it caused the routes to be more RNG based? I’m curious how much people actually like it.
